The N.C.B. Reinvestment Project

OBJECTIVES

  • To provide low income families with services and assistance to ensure healthy lifestyles and choices for all family members.
  • To provide low inccome families with the opportunity to enhance their quality of life and ensure their participation in healthy activities.

    EXPECTED RESULTS
    Healthy families! Healthy Families! Healthy Families!
    We say healthy families because this program aids lower income families with additional support for added nutritious meals, additional support in health care, sports fees and recreational activity fees. It provides the opportunity to access benefits other families enjoy . Benfits that many lower income families may otherwise be be unable to afford and this project shares or covers the costs. Resulting in less stress placed on families, both parents and children. In addition, children will be healthier because they are happier because of the extra increase and support of their quality of life!

User Fees
To pay users fees and others costs not covered by Health or Dental plans.

Graduation fees
To assist low income families to pay for activities and items required for graduating students

Gas
To provide gas for volunteers to patrol the community to ensure the safety of unsupervised children or the relocation of children and families to a safe place when there is violence in the household.

S&S Community Kitchen
Provides the rental fees for the P.I.B. Health Dept. program "Soup and Sandwich Cafe" which is a weekly program where low income families can have a nutritious meal, socialize a little bit and receive information on nutrition.

Hamper Program
To provide extra food for low income families with children to ensure no child goes hungry during hard times.

Sport and Recreation Fees
To support low income families by covering a portion or all of the costs to register their children in local sports or recreational activities.

Special Needs Training
To provide training fees for persons who disabled children in an effort to ease the quality of life for these families.

Youth Intervention
-To assist the P.I.B. Health Department in covering the necessary costs to coordinate and deliver extra-curricular activities for youth 11-14 and 15-18.
-To provide the necessary fees to bring in mentors and leaders who promote and increase the cultural awareness and the emotional health of our youth community.

Breakfast for Learning
to provide healthy nutritional meals for breakfast for children.
